Angarabat Village to Receive New Early Childhood Development Education Centre

ANGARABAT, KATILU WARD – The children of Angarabat village in Katilu Ward are poised to gain from a new Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) centre, slated for construction by the County Government. The announcement was made during the recent handover of the project site to the contractor and the official launch of the project. Ezekiel Kulal, the Director for ECDE, presided over the event, stating that the project is expected to reach completion within the next three months, adhering to the contract signed with the County Government.

According to Kenya News Agency, this development comes as a significant relief to the local community. Etubon Samal, the Area Member of County Assembly (MCA), present at the event, highlighted that the project’s location at Angarabat Primary School was chosen following a thorough public participation process. MCA Samal emphasized the vital role the centre will play in alleviating the challenges faced by parents in the area, who have been without an ECDE centre for a considerable period. He remarked on the current situation at Angarabat Primary School, where ECDE learners have been receiving education under a tree.

The ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including parents and teachers of ECDE students, with Lilian Ekiru, an ECDE teacher, being a notable attendee. Other attendees included Daniel Lotik from the office of the MCA, Philip Longor, a senior teacher at Angarabat, and Barbra Ekai from procurement. The new ECDE centre is anticipated to significantly enhance the educational infrastructure in Angarabat Village, providing a much-needed resource for early childhood education.
