Windhoek: Andrada Mining Limited has reported a strong performance during the first quarter of the 2027 financial year, citing progress in plant stability and throughput. Andrada Mining is a Namibia-based mining company with a strong focus on technology minerals.
According to Namibia Press Agency, an update for the period ended 31 May 2026 highlighted that ore processed increased by six per cent year-on-year to 270,069 tonnes, from 254,745 tonnes during the first quarter of the 2026 financial year. The processing rate also rose by nine per cent to 154 tonnes per hour (tph) from 142 tph.
These improvements translated into a 17 per cent increase in tin concentrate production to 473 tonnes from 405 tonnes and a 20 per cent increase in contained tin production to 286 tonnes from 238 tonnes. The company further indicated that tin concentrate production increased by four per cent to 453 tonnes, while contained tin production rose by five per cent to 271 tonnes in the first quarter of the 2026 financial year.
Andrada's Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Viljoen, noted that the first quarter of the 2027 financial year showcases one of the quarters in which Andrada thrives as it evolves. Viljoen stressed that as the company enters a new developmental stage, it is solidifying its workforce, focusing on its commercial and capital markets framework.
He underscored, "As we enter the next phase of growth, we are strengthening the team around our commercial and capital markets strategy," while welcoming new recruits who will serve in different areas. He further mentioned that the company delivered record quarterly tin production at its Uis mine and continues to demonstrate the operational capacity of its processing platform.
"At Uis, we delivered record quarterly tin production and continue to demonstrate the operational leverage embedded within our processing platform. Importantly, this performance has been achieved against a backdrop of sustained strength in tin prices, positioning the operation to generate increasing levels of cash flow," he said.
