Sebba: The Rural World Association (AMR) organized a community day on November 30, 2024, in the courtyard of the Sebba town hall, AIB noted on site. This day brought together several communities of the commune including the Gourmantchés, the Peulhs, the Haoussas, the Mossis, the Tamacheques, the Gourounsis, and the Bissas. The aim of this day was to allow each community to promote its culture through local dishes, dance, and traditional clothing.
According to Burkina Information Agency, as local dishes, there was fresh and curdled milk for the Peulhs, tchobal, gappal, milk and pepper for the Haoussas, to for the Gourounsis and Gourmantchés, peanuts and snakes for the Bissa, ‘gaounré’ (fritters) and ‘babenda’ (sauce) for the Mossis, etc. In addition to local dishes, the Yarsés gave a demonstration on donkey driving.
The Peulhs simulated a nomadic journey, the Bellas presented arrows and swords, and the Gourmantchés presented dabas, machetes, arrows, and jewelry. The population responded positively to these c
ultural displays.
For Amadou Mamoudou representing the PDS, “we are very happy to welcome the AMR in our premises. It offers an opportunity for our communities to have a framework for reunion and exchanges on many things. You saw this morning how happy everyone is. In this period of terrorist threat in Sebba and Solhan, these activities allow us to forget our worries for a while but at the same time, to strengthen the links between the communities.”
“We want the association to continue these activities because it is an opportunity for communities to come together around the values that each can give to the other. It is also an opportunity for us to say thank you to the PCRSS which supports the association but also which does a lot of work in our community. We will take the opportunity to say thank you to our FDS and VDP who responded despite their busy schedules.”

ized several activities in Sebba during this period of insecurity with the support of the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS).
