Passore: The Rural World Association (AMR), backed by the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS-Burkina), has successfully completed a capacity-building workshop aimed at fortifying the skills of community actors in Passore. The workshop, which took place from January 13 to 16, 2026, was hosted in the Yako town hall reception hall.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this training session was aligned with the ongoing implementation of the PCRSS-Burkina, a project designed to foster effective, inclusive, and sustainable community management of socio-economic infrastructure in the Yaadga region. During the five-day event, participants engaged with five strategic modules covering sustainable infrastructure management, the roles of management committees, action plan development, and both administrative and financial management.
Arouna Zongo, the PCRSS project supervisor and AMR facilitator in Passore, emphasized the workshop's primary objective: to enhance the capacities of community actors, heighten their awareness, and reiterate the responsibilities of management committee members. "The aim is to build effective, inclusive, and sustainable community management of socio-economic infrastructure within the framework of the Sahel-Burkina Community Recovery and Stabilization Project," Zongo stated.
The training focused on both project beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries, aiming to transform participants into effective community relays within their organizations. Participants, including Ily Paul and Pascaline T. Doulkom, expressed satisfaction with the training, highlighting significant learning in resource management, research, planning, and cash flow management. They lauded the project's support for schools and AMR's continuous assistance in organizing and managing the committees.
Participants advocated for expanding these training programs to include parents of students, ensuring the sustainable operation of educational institutions. In his closing remarks, Zongo expressed gratitude for the participants' diligence and the quality of discussions, urging them to become exemplars of good community governance.
These capacity-building activities are integral to the PCRSS's implementation in the Yaadga region, with AMR serving as the local facilitator.
