Amirou Djama Hubert Thiombiano to Strengthen Predecessor’s Achievements in New Role at INFPE

Gourm: The Secretary of the Eastern Region, Siaka Ouattara, officially installed Amirou Djama Hubert Thiombiano as the regional director of the National Institute for the Training of Education Personnel (INFPE) of the East, in a ceremony held on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Fada N'Gourma. Thiombiano has pledged to continue building on the accomplishments of his predecessor.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during his installation ceremony, Thiombiano committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and dedication to ensure that the institute continues to excel in the field of education training. He expressed his admiration for the work of his predecessor and assured that he would work to preserve and enhance the legacy left behind.

Thiombiano has vowed to implement significant changes, with the approval of his superiors, to better equip future educators graduating from the INFPE de l'Est. He also expressed hope for the return of peace, aiming for the institute to function at full capacity with the collaboration of all stakeholders and guidance from his hierarchy.

The new director assumes his role amidst a security crisis that has reduced teacher training to minimal annual quotas. This period coincides with the Burkinabe government's efforts to introduce innovations in the education system. These include the integration of national languages and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), initiation into various professions to boost employability, integration of graduates into the socio-economic fabric, and the introduction of English as a vital language in the globalized world.

Amirou Djama Hubert Thiombiano's predecessor, Yacouba Thiombiano, who led the institute for 3 years and 4 months, is remembered for his dedication and management skills, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues.
