Ambassadors of Civic Duty and Citizenship Honored at Flag-Raising Ceremony in Goulmou

Goulmou: Ambassadors of civic duty and citizenship presented during the first flag-raising ceremony of 2026. On the sidelines of the first solemn raising of the national colours of the year 2026, the regional director of human rights, promotion of citizenship and peace of the East, Bouleima Yonli, presented, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Fada N'Gourma, the national and regional winners of the competitions on civic duty and citizenship.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ambassadors of civic responsibility and citizenship for the civic responsibility and citizenship competitions were officially presented to the constituted bodies of the Goulmou region on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in Fada N'Gourma, during the raising of the national flag for 2026. These competitions were launched on the occasion of the 2025 edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement.

The regional director, Bouleima Yonli, highlighted that the winners from the Goulmou region took the top two spots nationally. He noted that the first regional winner received their prize in Ouagadougou during the "Night of Stars," a national awards ceremony. The second and third place regional winners were awarded by regional authorities during the flag-raising ceremony.

On behalf of the recipients, the Ambassador for Civic Duty and Citizenship, Aissatou Diallo, expressed her pride in receiving such an honor. She reaffirmed her commitment to promoting patriotism among her peers. "To be a patriot is to love one's country," stated Aissatou Diallo, emphasizing that patriotism is shown through actions such as respecting traffic lights and public property.

This initiative aims to strengthen the promotion of civic values among the youth and the entire population of the region.
