Lobito: The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Angola, Henny de Vries, visited the Port of Lobito, accompanied by a delegation of young university students participating in the Orange Corners Angola - Jumpstart Benguela Logistics program. The initiative aimed to deepen knowledge about the functioning, challenges, and opportunities of the national port logistics sector. According to Angola Press News Agency, the visit was promoted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and is part of a strategy to support young entrepreneurship and strengthen the logistics ecosystem in Angola, with particular emphasis on the province of Benguela. This region is hosting an intensive short-term logistics course aimed at training young entrepreneurs, an initiative of Orange Corners Angola. During a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Port of Lobito, the ambassador highlighted the importance of equipping participants with practical tools to identify real problems and develop innovative and sustainab le solutions in line with the demands of the Angolan market. She also emphasized the strategic role of the Port of Lobito as a crucial logistical hub and a key component of the Lobito Corridor, with a regional impact. Henny de Vries noted that cooperation between the Netherlands and Angola has been intensifying, particularly in Benguela, with a focus on youth entrepreneurship, agribusiness, water management, biodiversity, and higher education. In this context, the Orange Corners program is seen as a central tool to boost young talent and promote sustainable business solutions. Celso Rosas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Lobito, congratulated the Embassy on the Orange Corners program's implementation in Angola, highlighting its direct impact on youth empowerment. He stated, "Young people represent the foundation of the sustainable development of any economy. Initiatives like this not only allow us to train entrepreneurs but also to create concrete solutions for the country's challenges." Rosas also emphasized the excellent level of cooperation between Angola and the Netherlands, advocating for stronger partnerships in the logistics and port sector.
