Lions FC, a newcomer in the Oshana Village Based Football League’s third division, has quickly become a key player in northern Namibia’s sports scene since its establishment in 2024. The club not only competes in local football but also serves as a vital platform for nurturing talented young athletes, as stated by Lions FC representative Heicky Iiyambo. Iiyambo expressed deep gratitude for the donation, highlighting its significant impact on the club’s efforts to develop professional-level footballers and provide them with viable career opportunities in sports. He further detailed that the club is inclusive, welcoming amateur and professional footballers, and even community members seeking fitness engagement, underscoring the club’s role in promoting both community involvement and physical health.
With a roster of 30 players and six management staff, Lions FC is poised to continue its growth and contribution to sports development in the region.
