Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis is travelling today to Bulgaria in order to participate tomorrow in the Trilateral Meeting of the Ministers responsible for European Affairs of Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.
In particular, the meeting, which will take place in Sofia on Friday, October 14, will also be attended by Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Velislava Petrova, and Romanian Secretary of State for European Affairs, Daniela Grigore Gitman.
The discussion will focus on issues such as the situation in the Western Balkans and regional cooperation. In addition, participants will exchange views on the energy crisis and the economy, on developments in Ukraine following the Russian invasion, and on the possibilities for the country’s reconstruction.
It is recalled that a very successful Trilateral Meeting was held in Athens on May 12, which confirmed the excellent climate between the three countries and the willingness to further coordinate their positions in the framework of the agenda of the General Affairs Council of the European Union.
