Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, will participate in the EU General Affairs Council, to be convened on Friday, November 18, in Brussels.
The Council will focus on the preparations for the European Council meeting (15-16 December 2022), whose agenda includes Ukraine, energy and economy, security and defence, Southern Neighbourhood, and the Union’s external relations. EU-United Kingdom relations and respect for EU values in Hungary will be discussed, as well. Lastly, the Commission will present its work programme for the coming year.
On the afternoon of Thursday, November 17, the Alternate Minister will participate in the annual European Business Summit on the geopolitical situation in Europe. The Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Taras Kachka, and the Ministers for European Affairs of the Czech Republic, Marek Havdra, of Sweden, Jessika Roswall, and of Portugal, Tiago Antunes will also participate in the event.
