Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will participate tomorrow Tuesday, June 22, in a meeting of the EU General Affairs Council, to be held with physical presence in Luxembοurg.
The main item on the agenda is preparation for the European Council meeting of 24 and 25 June, which focuses on European coordination to address the pandemic, economic recovery, the migration issue, EU-Turkey and EU-Russia relations, as well as the forthcoming Euro Summit.
The GAC agenda also includes issues related to Enlargement and the Stabilization and Association Process, the Conference on the Future of Europe, Rule of Law in Poland, Values of the Union in Hungary and EU-Switzerland relations.
On the sidelines of the Council, Mr. Varvitsiotis will also participate in the EU intergovernmental conferences with Montenegro and Serbia on the basis of the new Enlargement methodology.
Following the General Affairs Council meeting, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will accompany Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Brussels, where the Summit of Heads of State will take place.
