We welcome yesterday’s agreement reached between the EU and the UK on Northern Ireland.
It is a positive development, and it is significant that, following a lengthy round of negotiations between the two parties, reason and realism have prevailed. Agreement’s individual provisions resolve technical issues, caused by Brexit and related to trade, while also turning a new page in the UK-EU relationship.
It is worth noting that throughout the relevant discussions, EU member states, including Greece, have demonstrated unity and supported the European Commission’s negotiating line, in order to find a viable solution.
