“The image of the arrest of the candidate for Mayor of Himare Mr. Beleri is unacceptable. We have taken all required diplomatic actions and are following the case. We stand by the Greek Minority”, stated Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs and candidate MP with the New Democracy party in the regional unit of West Athens, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, speaking this morning on SKAI 100.3 radio station and journalist Aris Portosalte. He recalled the significance of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ visit to Himare a few months ago, being the first Greek Prime Minister to visit the region.
