“We are responding at all levels and in all possible ways. I believe that if there is one thing that Greeks have realized lately, it is that there is tremendously high mobility in our foreign policy. We have clarified our position in every corner of the world, drawing our own blue lines which are nothing but our blue borders”, underlined Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, in an interview today with OPEN TV’s show “Tora Mazi” and journalists Evlambia Revi and Giorgos Siadimas. He noted that he presented the Greek positions during his recent visit to Japan and that his interlocutors emphasized their adherence to International Law.
Regarding Erdogan’s possible participation in the upcoming European Political Community Summit in Prague, Mr. Varvitsiotis underscored that Turkey should not be politically isolated, as “an isolated Turkey would be even more dangerous”. He added that it is important for the Turkish President to hear what we are saying from our European partners as well.
Asked about the energy issue, the Alternate Minister noted that the Greek side “has proposed a series of measures, some of which have already been adopted by the European Union”. On the issue of imposing a price cap on natural gas, Mr. Varvitsiotis underlined that “the number of countries that have a common understanding with us is constantly increasing, we were three and have now reached 15”, expressing optimism for achieving convergence at the European level.
