Almeria FC Clinches Victory in Zabré Football Tournament


ZABRÉ — Almeria FC from sector 5 of Zabré triumphed in the fifth edition of the Zabré Forces Vives football vacation tournament, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over the ‘Petit Piment’ team from the village of Soussoula on Saturday, August 31, 2024.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Zabré Forces Vives football holiday tournament, which kicked off on July 6, concluded with the finals on the Zabré town hall multi-sports ground. The tournament aimed to promote unity and support for Burkina’s vital forces amidst ongoing challenges. The event saw the Almeria FC team claim the top prize, with Mardochée Gouba scoring the decisive goal in the first half.



The sponsor, El Hadj Ousmane Gouba, and special guest, Adama Kamboné, a mission officer at the presidency for the Centre-East region, emphasized the importance of unity and resilience among the youth of Zabré to combat terrorism. The tournament featured 20 teams from various sectors and villages of Zabré, engaging in 41 matches marked by sportsmanship and fair play.



For their victory, Almeria FC was awarded a trophy, gold medals, a set of jerseys, a ball, and 60,000 FCFA. The runner-up, ‘Petit Piment,’ received silver medals, a set of jerseys, a ball, and 40,000 FCFA. Additional prizes were given to the teams from Sangou and Youga, who placed third and fourth respectively.
