A 49-year-old suspect will appear in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 29 May 2023 after he was arrested in possession of a stolen Opel Corsa in Sinoville on Friday afternoon.
The persistent operations by the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) to combat robberies in the Pretoria suburbs in conjunction with Tracker Connect, FRS-Falcon Risk Solutions, SAPS Gauteng Highway Patrol, ICB-Insurance Crime Bureau, Badboyz Security, FADT Centurion, Tshwane Metro K9 yielded positive results.
The suspect was arrested near a shopping centre in Sinoville with a vehicle that was allegedly stolen during a burglary at Lyttelton in January this year. He has been linked to house robberies that occurred in Garsfontein, Brooklyn, and Lyttelton. The suspect has been previously arrested for house robbery and housebreaking cases.
During the arrest, a number of cellphones and false registration plates were recovered inside the vehicle. The investigation to arrest his accomplices is continuing.
