Trevor Masuku (32) was remanded in custody by the Kabokweni Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 14 July 2023 following his arrest by the Hawks’ Nelspruit Serious Organised Crime Investigation assisted by Crime Intelligence and Private Security on 12 July 2023 in Nelspruit.

The arrest of Masuku, who originally is from Pienaar, followed after the police received information from Crime Intelligence about a wanted suspect in connection with a cash in transit, robbery and attempted murder case which occurred in Hazyview, Shabalala Trust during May 2023. It is further alleged that on the day in question, an undisclosed amount of cash and firearms were robbed from G4S security officers. Suspects armed with AK47’s blew up the AV with explosives and robbed it.

The case against Masuku is postponed to 19 July 2023 for formal bail application.
