Algeria Officially Joins AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative

Algiers – Algeria has formally become a member of the guided trade initiative under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement. The announcement was made by the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, during the economic forum on the guided trade initiative within the AfCFTA framework. This move is part of Algeria’s efforts to enhance trade relations with other African countries.

According to Africa News Agency, joining the AfCFTA guided trade initiative is aimed at significantly increasing the volume of trade between African nations. The initiative focuses on eliminating customs constraints to facilitate smoother trade across the continent. This step by Algeria reflects its commitment to integrating more closely with the African economic community and leveraging the benefits of free trade within the region.
