BOULGOU: Alfred Jean Michel Bationo, a prolific writer known for his diverse literary contributions, introduced his latest work, “Placental Governance or Falsified Paradise,” at a dedication ceremony in Tenkodogo. The event, held under the patronage of Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, governor of the Center-East region, attracted regional and provincial directors, department heads, and members of customary and religious communities, as well as educators and students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Bationo’s new book is set in an entirely fictional universe, highlighting the Republic of “Nayibùmbu,” a place brimming with hope. The narrative begins with a depiction of a once-prosperous republic now under the exclusive rule of Panga and his family, leaving the populace neglected. The story unfolds with the emergence of Zougnooma, a character poised to rescue the people from their plight.

Nacor Sorgho, the regional director responsible for secondary education in the Centre-East, called upon the youth t
o engage with the work, emphasizing its relevance to building a prosperous and democratic Burkina Faso. He noted that the book presciently addresses future challenges and governance issues. Sorgho extended congratulations and gratitude to Bationo for his literary contributions, urging both young and adult readers to commit to good governance inspired by the themes of the book.

In “Placental Governance or Falsified Paradise,” Bationo incorporates names of Burkinabe origin, particularly Moagha, inviting readers to reconnect with cultural roots. Bationo expressed his desire for the work to reflect cultural elements that resonate with Burkinabe origins, reinforcing a connection to the nation’s heritage.

The book is available in bookstores across Burkina Faso, with prices ranging from 5,000 CFA francs in Tenkodogo to 13,000 CFA francs in the Diacfa bookstore.
