OUAGADOUGOU — In a ceremony held on Friday, Alban Kini officially assumed the role of Deputy Director General of Communication and Media (DGACM) in Burkina Faso. During his installation, Kini emphasized his commitment to effectively address the challenges within his department, acknowledging the groundwork laid by his predecessors.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Kini highlighted his intention to build on the existing foundations rather than introducing radical changes. “We are not here to invent the wheel. The furrows are already traced by our predecessors. We come to make our contribution,” he stated at the gathering in Ouagadougou.
The ceremony was presided over by Fidèle Tamini, the secretary general of the ministry in charge of Communication, where Kini expressed his appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him and confirmed his readiness to manage the responsibilities assigned to him efficiently. Prior to his current role, Kini served as the director of the Burkina Faso Information Agency and was appointed to his new position by the Council of Ministers on April 25, 2024.
Kini succeeds Yirmalè Fréderic Somé, who has been promoted to the position of general director of communications and media. Acknowledging the collaborative nature of his role, Kini called for the support of his colleagues to tackle the department’s challenges together.
