Alamin Elected as New FKF Mombasa Branch Chairman.

MOMBASA: In a fiercely contested election at Shanzu Teachers Training College, Ahmed Alamin Abdalla, the Chairman of Congo Boys football club, emerged as the new chairman of the Mombasa Branch of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

According to Kenya News Agency, Alamin, along with his running mate, Betty Kerubo, secured victory by obtaining 26 votes. His opponent, the former Chairperson Lilian Nandundu, garnered 22 votes, while Ali Salim received 8 votes. Alamin’s win signifies a new direction for local football governance in Mombasa.

Stephen Mureithi was elected as the new Secretary, amassing 36 votes. His closest competitors, Mahfudh Omar and Mohammed Salim, received 18 and 2 votes, respectively. Meanwhile, Hamis Amrani successfully retained his seat as Treasurer with 23 votes, defeating Mohammed Ramdhan, who got 19 votes, and Wilson Karisa, who managed 14 votes.

The Youth Representative position was claimed by Jones Kyalo, who won with 24 votes. His opponents, Hussein Yahya and Safi Ahmed, both secure
d 16 votes each. In the Women’s Representative race, Lucy Abuna emerged victorious with 23 votes, outpacing Diona Demba, who garnered 21 votes, and Sylvian Musau, who received 10 votes.

As the newly elected Mombasa County Chairman, Alamin will be among the 94 delegates tasked with electing the National Executive Committee members on December 9.
