AJECO Supports Faso-Mªbo Initiative with Equipment and Food Donation

Ouahigouya: The Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Centre-West (AJECO) demonstrated its solidarity and civic commitment by donating equipment and food to the Faso-Mªbo Agency in Nando, Koudougou, on Saturday, March 7, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, under the leadership of its president, Alexis Zongo, AJECO handed over a significant amount of equipment and food to support the volunteers involved in the work of the presidential initiative "Faso Mªbo" (Building Faso). Responding to the call of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, the young entrepreneurs of the Nando region mobilized to make a concrete contribution to the beautification and construction of community infrastructure in Nando.

The equipment mobilized by the association includes 10 tons of cement and 40 tons of sand for construction work, protective and work equipment such as fluorescent vests, helmets, pickaxes, and wood, along with significant food supplies consisting of about twenty bags of rice, oil, sugar, coffee, tea, and packs of water to support the workers.

"This is a concrete action that the association is taking today. This gesture aims to enable those on the ground to be fully operational," said Alexis Zongo, president of the association. He emphasized that patriotism is ingrained in the DNA of his organization, which was founded over a decade ago. Recognized for its dynamism, the association was awarded a medal of honor for productivity in 2015.

The organization continues to initiate projects like business trips through the Forum of Young Entrepreneurs of Africa and the "Night of the Entrepreneur," which rewards major economic players in the region. On the social front, the association has shown resilience, supporting impoverished people during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and implementing a support project for 500 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in 2024.

During this period of Christian Lent and Muslim fasting, President Alexis Zongo called for unity in prayer, emphasizing that their actions are for the country, region, and community. He also implored for the return of lasting peace and tranquility to Burkina Faso, praising the leadership of national and regional authorities, and thanking association members for their dedication to citizen initiatives.
