OUAGADOUGOU — Aïssatou Angelina Traoré was officially appointed the new Secretary General of Burkina Faso’s Central Region on Monday, following her successful tenure as the high commissioner of the Loroum province from 2017 to 2020.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the civil administrator, Traoré, was designated for this key role on July 31, 2024, succeeding Ram Joseph Kafando, who now serves as Governor of the Eastern Region. The installation ceremony was overseen by the governor of the Central Region, Abdoulaye Bassinga.
During her inauguration, Traoré expressed her commitment to enhancing the efficiency of administrative processes and the implementation of national policies designed to positively impact the citizens of Burkina Faso. “I take stock of my mission and I reassure you of my commitment, my loyalty, and my patriotism to help the governor accomplish his mission,” she stated. She also highlighted her plans to collaborate closely with regional directors and the special regional delegation to initiate projects that benefit the local population.
