Aircraft Crash in Diapaga Claims Five Lives


DIAPAGA – An aircraft crash in Diapaga, eastern Burkina Faso, resulted in five fatalities and two injuries on Wednesday, as reported by eyewitnesses to AIB at the scene. The incident occurred when the aircraft, operated by Lead Air, failed its takeoff and collided with a tree.



According to Burkina Information Agency, This airline has been servicing the route from Ouagadougou to Diapaga for nearly three months.



The area, especially the Fada N’Gourma-Diapaga axis, is known for its challenging access due to prevailing security concerns. In response, the military frequently arranges convoys for the transport and delivery of supplies to the local populations, underscoring the vital importance of air service to the region despite the tragic accident.
