Agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland Conclude Training in Houet


Houet: The agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) from the commune of P©ni were received by the municipal authorities at the town hall, marking the conclusion of their comprehensive 70-day training program.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was chaired by the President of the Special Delegation of the municipality, Moumouni Ou©draogo, and was themed around patriotism and civic engagement. The agricultural VDPs took this opportunity to present their activity report, which detailed the skills they acquired during the training and their strategies for future fieldwork. They also appealed for support from local authorities to enhance their contribution to local development, especially in the fields of agricultural production and processing.



Diakaridia Traor©, the delegate of the agricultural VDP, expressed gratitude to the authorities for initiating the training. He highlighted the enhanced technical skills and patriotic commitment gained through the program, stating, “We thank the authorities for this training, which has allowed us to strengthen our technical skills and our patriotic commitment. We are ready to put these skills to use for the benefit of our community.”



During the ceremony, Moumouni Ou©draogo praised the volunteers for their dedication and discipline, urging them to continue being pivotal figures in community resilience and development. He reassured them of the municipal authorities’ ongoing support for their initiatives and acknowledged their efforts. The Secretary General of the town hall, Boubacar Rabo, also lauded the volunteers for their determination, encouraging them to remain diligent in fulfilling their missions.



A highlight of the meeting was the display of processed products developed during the training, showcasing the agricultural VDPs’ commitment to economic transformation and food sovereignty in the commune of P©ni. This initiative aligns with the national agenda of bolstering population resilience and advancing local development.
