ADDIS ABABA: In a significant step toward bolstering regional security, participants of the First African Defense Ministers’ Conference in Addis Ababa visited the headquarters of the Ethiopian Air Force today. The visit included detailed presentations on Ethiopia’s air defense capabilities and demonstrations of aircraft and military equipment.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the delegates, consisting of African defense ministers and senior military officers, were given a comprehensive overview of operational strategies and technological advancements within the Ethiopian Air Force. The tour emphasized the Air Force’s commitment to modernizing its fleet and enhancing operational readiness, which was showcased through various demonstrations at the Air Force flying school, maintenance center, and several air force bases.
The participants expressed appreciation for Ethiopia’s efforts in strengthening air defense and highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing threats such as terrorism and o
rganized crime. The visit is part of the three-day Africa Defense Ministers’ Conference, themed “Africa: United in Peace, Strong in Security.” This event has gathered defense ministers, senior military officers, military attachés based in Addis Ababa, and researchers engaged in military affairs to discuss pressing security challenges facing Africa. The conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among nations to enhance collective defense strategies.
