Addis Ababa: Participants at the World Without Hunger (WWH) conference were astounded by Ethiopia’s remarkable agricultural transformation and the ongoing infrastructure development in Addis Ababa. Mohammed Bin Alyamin, Counselor to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, expressed his amazement at Ethiopia’s agricultural transformation during the event.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Alyamin highlighted Ethiopia’s social and technological adaptations, commitment to modernization, and improvements in the living conditions of its farming population. “African countries have come here to learn from this experience,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of replicating Ethiopia’s success in other nations. Alyamin noted the potential for trade exchanges, particularly in vegetable production, and mentioned that the African Union Commission is exploring opportunities for collaboration between Ethiopia and Mauritania.

Reflecting on the infrastructure development in Addis Ababa, Alyam
in expressed astonishment at the city’s rapid transformation and modern vision. He praised the development of hotels, roads, and other infrastructure, describing Addis Ababa as a great African capital.

Ella Inzahbo, a participant from Chad, shared her admiration for Addis Ababa’s infrastructural progress during her first visit to Ethiopia. She was impressed by the peace, nature, and hospitality she encountered, emphasizing the importance of African countries learning from Ethiopia’s advancements in agriculture, infrastructure, research, and science.

Rana Fakhoury, an Industrial Development Officer at UNIDO, celebrated the ‘Madein Ethiopia’ movement, which promotes inclusive development and strengthens Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector. She reiterated UNIDO’s commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s manufacturing industry, highlighting the role of integrated agro-industrial parks in job creation and economic resilience, which bolster Ethiopia’s position in the global agricultural market.
