Casablanca: Eighteen Stallions are currently in Casablanca alongside the technical staff, on the second day of their training camp ahead of the start of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco 2025, according to the Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the squad led by Brama Traore is gradually taking shape as the players assemble in Benslimane. The players present include Issoufou Dayo, Herve Koffi, Farid Ouedraogo, Kilian Nikiema, Arsene Kouassi, Rachid Ayinde, Cedric Badolo, Steeve Yago, Ismaila Ouedraogo, Blati Toure, Gustavo Sangare, Ousseni Bouda, Irie Bi Kalou, Mohamed Zoungrana, Georgi Minoungou, Landry Kabore, Saidou Simpore, and Aziz Ki, as announced by the FBF.
The FBF's media officer reported that Brama Traore and his players braved challenging weather conditions, including driving rain and freezing cold, to conduct their training session, which included warm-up exercises, ball movement drills, and 9-a-side games. The atmosphere was noted to be excellent, with a clear commitment from the players, satisfying the national coach. The players arrived highly motivated and determined to make a strong start to the AFCON.
The Burkinabe football governing body remains optimistic, anticipating the arrival of more players in the coming days. The fourth day of the training camp is expected to see an almost complete squad, boosting the team's preparation efforts.
In the upcoming AFCON, scheduled from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, Burkina Faso is placed in Group E, where they will compete against Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan.
