Davos: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the ideal team for the 35th Edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025/26), held in Morocco, highlighting the standout players of the tournament. According to Angola Press News Agency, Morocco led with five players in the ideal team, reflecting their strong performance throughout the tournament. Senegal, the reigning African champion, saw three of its players making the list. The team was arranged in a 4-3-3 formation. In the goalkeeper position, Yassine Bounou from Morocco was recognized for his decisive performances, earning the title of the tournament's best goalkeeper. The defensive lineup featured Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd from Morocco, alongside Kalidou Koulibaly from Senegal, showcasing a solid defensive foundation. The midfield comprised Idrissa Gana Gueye from Senegal, Sofyan Amrabat from Morocco, and Franck Kessié from Côte d'Ivoire. This trio was noted for their balance, organization, and physical presence in the midfie ld battles. Leading the forward line, Sadio Mané from Senegal was named the Best Player of the Tournament, while Brahim Díaz from Morocco earned the Golden Boot as the top scorer. Victor Osimhen from Nigeria was also recognized for his offensive influence and power in attack, completing the ideal team for AFCON 2025/26.
