Ouagadougou — Ministers from Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso emphasized the crucial role of youth in fostering stability and prosperity across the Sahel region during a gathering in Ouagadougou. This event coincided with the first summer university for the Alliance of Sahel States, which took place from September 25 to 27, 2024, in Ziniaré, organized by the Circle of Actions for Economic and Social Development of Burkina Faso (CADES-BF).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ministers, including Burkina Faso's Roland Somda, and youth leaders from Mali and Niger, stressed the need for a collective effort among the younger generations. They gathered to express solidarity and to discuss strategies for peace, security, and development during the summer university event.
