Adventist Missionaries Provide Free Medical Services in Nobere

Nobere: Medical missionaries from the Seventh-day Adventist Church organized a week of awareness and free care for local populations in Nobere from Sunday, March 8 to Friday, March 13, AIB observed on site. This awareness program, which is part of the core missions of the faithful of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, aims to promote health and holistic well-being within communities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Pastor Zoundi, one of the missionaries, stated that this initiative derives its legitimacy from the Holy Scriptures. He indicated that their conviction to support well-being stems from the ministry of Jesus Christ, which was essentially based on a triad: faith, education, and health. During this day, the population benefited from several free medical services, including blood pressure checks, blood glucose screening, and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation.

In addition to physical examinations, practical advice on preventing chronic conditions such as diabetes and strokes was provided. The missionaries emphasized that most of these ailments are preventable. They considered the lack of preventative care a serious failing that could have lasting negative consequences for human health.

Among the beneficiaries, a feeling of relief prevails. "Going for a consultation in town is expensive between transportation and administrative fees. Today, I was able to find out my blood sugar level for free and I received advice on my diet," rejoiced Mariam Tiendrebogo, a resident of the commune. The same sentiment was echoed by another beneficiary, who saw this action as a concrete act of solidarity: "We greatly appreciate this advice. I commit to scrupulously following the instructions for my well-being because health is priceless," he confided.

Looking ahead, Pastor Zoundi announced that this campaign is just one step. The church intends to expand these outreach efforts to other localities in the region in order to bring healthcare closer to rural populations and strengthen grassroots health education. It was on a note of overall satisfaction that the missionaries pledged to provide follow-up for cases requiring more in-depth care in specialized health centers.
