ADRA Delivers Cholera Prevention Supplies and Construction Materials in Gambos

Gambos: The non-governmental organization ADRA has delivered essential cholera prevention and treatment kits to local authorities in the municipality of Gambos, located in the southern Huíla Province. This delivery took place on Monday and aims to bolster the region's health response and infrastructure. According to Angola Press News Agency, the supplies provided by ADRA include face masks, hand sanitizer, oral rehydration solution, bleach, gloves, soap, extra gowns, tents, bedding for health units, and medications for cholera and water treatment. In addition to the health supplies, the aid also comprised bags of cement and work materials intended for the construction of the Muntyiaulua school on the outskirts of Chiange, the municipal seat. Avelino Cavela, ADRA's intervention coordinator in Gambos, stated that this initiative is part of the organization's ongoing social responsibility efforts, carried out in collaboration with the Gambos municipal administration. The materials were received by Administrato r Francisco Barros, who commended ADRA's efforts. He emphasized that the kits would enhance the capacity of health authorities to respond effectively to cholera outbreaks, support disease prevention initiatives, and contribute to the progress of the Muntyiaulua school construction. Gambos, situated 156 kilometers south of Lubango, is home to an estimated population of 109,738 residents.
