Luanda: Angolan Head of State Joo Louren§o appointed Ado de Almeida as a member of the Council of the Republic on Monday.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the appointment was made through a press release from the Press Services of the Presidency of the Republic, citing the nature of de Almeida’s duties as the reason for his selection.
In a related development, a presidential decree announced the termination of Carolina Cerqueira’s term as a member of the advisory body. This decision follows her replacement as the leader of Parliament.
Ado de Almeida was also elected as the president of the National Assembly on Monday, succeeding Carolina Cerqueira in the position.
