ADDIS ABABA — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced the government's commitment to implementing the outcomes of Ethiopia's national dialogue. Speaking at the opening session of the nationwide agenda-setting consultative chapter at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue in overcoming the country’s historical conflicts.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the national dialogue seeks to transform Ethiopia into a nation characterized by hope and unity. He highlighted the significance of this initiative as a critical and historical opportunity for the country, urging all stakeholders to engage actively and not to miss the chance for collective betterment. The government, he assured, would not interfere with the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission, which he trusts is led by commissioners dedicated to the nation's welfare.

Further detailing the process, Abiy stated that any unresolved agendas would be decided through a referendum, underscoring the necessity for all to respect the people's decision. He expressed his view that resolving conflicts through force leads to only temporary resolutions, failing to address the underlying issues permanently. The dialogue, he believes, will ensure that Ethiopia emerges from its challenges united and without losers.
