ADDIS ABABA — The Ethiopian government has launched significant urban development projects in Addis Ababa, aiming to elevate the city’s livability and appeal as a central hub for African politics and international diplomacy.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, recent efforts have included transforming Addis Ababa into a smart city with state-of-the-art parks, museums, and public facilities, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the capital. Projects such as Unity Park and the Adwa Memorial Museum have already boosted tourism, while a new initiative aims to overhaul the city’s public sanitation systems. The “Clean Streets and Healthy Livelihood” campaign focuses on installing modern, inclusive restroom facilities citywide, reflecting a commitment to improving urban environments and public health.
