ADDIS ABABA: Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh visited the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) in Azerbaijan, a key economic initiative of the country. AFEZ is Azerbaijan’s first economic zone dedicated to export trade, import substitution, and value-added manufacturing products.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the visit provided valuable experiences from AFEZ, known as the ‘investment hub’ of the region. “By strengthening our relationship and adopting best practices, Ethiopia will exert efforts to achieve the country’s expectations in the sector,” Temesgen said. The delegation, led by Temesgen, also had fruitful discussions with Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister, Colonel-General Eyvazov Vilayat Suleyman. Temesgen visited the ASAN Service Center in Baku, which provides government services digitally in a centralized manner. During the visit, he met with Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
