Adama Kéïta, First Mayor of Gassan, Dies During Pilgrimage

Sourou/Hadj — Adama Kéïta, the first mayor of the commune of Gassan and a former member of the National Assembly, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Kéïta was in Medina to perform his pilgrimage when he passed away. His death was mourned by both the local community and the larger population of Burkina Faso. Keïta, a retired hydrogeologist engineer, was remembered for his dedication to improving the living conditions in his community and for his advocacy in the National Assembly for the region’s interests.
