35-years-old, Jacob Aphane appeared in Middleburg Magistrates’ court today, 23 June 2023 and granted R10 000-00 bail after his case was postponed to 04 August 2023 for further investigation.

The accused was arrested by Middelburg based Serious Commercial Crimes Investigation on allegations of fraud and uttering.

It is reported that Aphane applied for motor vehicle finance at Yoga 4 Wheels cars CC Middelburg using fraudulent documents. Aphane submitted a false bank statement from Discovery bank, a false proof of income and a false proof of residence to Westbank finance. His application was approved by Wesbank and he collected the motor vehicle from Yoga 4 Wheels cars Middelburg on the 7th of June 2022.
