Ouagadougou: The Literature, Arts, Spaces and Societies Laboratory (LLAES) of the Doctoral School of Letters, Human Sciences and Communication (LESHCO) at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University held a scientific panel in Ouagadougou to discuss its role in conserving and promoting cultural heritage. This event coincided with the 3rd edition of Burkinabe Heritage Month.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the panel explored themes related to Burkinabe and African literature’s impact on cultural heritage promotion, cultural studies pertaining to African heritage, and the intersection of gender, societies, oral traditions, and theatrical studies.
The head of LLAES, Honorine Sare, emphasized that the panel’s focus on arts and literature’s role in preserving Burkinabe cultural heritage is a contribution by the laboratory to the celebration of Burkinabe Heritage Month. Souleymane Ganou, head of the laboratory’s African Cultural Studies team, expressed that the panel aims to foster the spirit of Burkinabe Heritage Month through its discussions.
Ganou also highlighted the laboratory’s significant contributions to Burkinabe cultural heritage through their research outcomes. The event brought together teacher-researchers, students, heritage management professionals, and representatives from the Ministry of Culture.
