Lobito: The team of Academica de Luanda won against Petro de Luanda on Sunday, in Lobito, with a decisive 8-3 victory in the final of the Angola Cup in roller hockey. The match was held at the multipurpose pavilion of the Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, which was filled to capacity with 618 seated spectators. According to Angola Press News Agency, the halftime score was already 2-1 in favor of Academica de Luanda, credited to their superior tactics and minimal errors. Although Petro de Luanda initially responded well, Academica's dominance became apparent as the second half progressed. Petro de Luanda displayed strong performance at the start and had the potential to secure the win, but lapses in concentration during crucial moments and a weak defense proved costly. Academica de Luanda's coach, Alberto Domingos, praised his team's preparation and resilience. "We had a good season in which we went to four finals: we won two and lost two others," he stated, emphasizing the team's consistent strategy despi te having new players. On the other hand, Petro de Luanda's coach, Pedro Magalhes, acknowledged the defeat, attributing it to the team's poor defensive stance. He expressed disappointment with the season's outcome, having aimed to clinch this competition, but promised a different approach in the upcoming season.
