Islam: The provincial office of the Circle for Islamic Studies, Research and Training (CERFI) of Bassitenga held its ordinary general assembly on Sunday at the organization's headquarters in Ziniar©. This statutory meeting allowed for the renewal of the governing bodies.
According to Burkina Information Agency, following the vote, Aboubacar Sidiki Sourgou was elected Secretary General with 91.11% of the vote. An employee at the Ziniar© Regional Hospital Center (CHR), he was part of the outgoing team, an asset which, according to participants, will ensure the continuity of ongoing initiatives.
Outgoing Secretary General Idrissa Ou©draogo praised the achievements of his two-year term. He specifically mentioned the mobilization of a dynamic team, the strengthening of human capital, the electrification of the headquarters, the acquisition of work equipment, and the establishment of the Muslim Institute for Education and Training (IM2E), dedicated to the education of Muslim believers. "This is also an opportunity to thank all those who supported us during our term," he stated.
For his part, the new Secretary General invited activists and supporters to become more involved in the organization's activities. "It's about continuity. Many actions have been carried out, and others are underway. The presence and commitment of everyone are essential to the success of our da'wa mission," he indicated.
The work of the general assembly was overseen by the regional coordinator of CERFI, Assane Derme, who urged the new board to demonstrate listening, consultation and sincerity in action, while drawing on the experience of the elders and the outgoing board. Led by this new management team, the CERFI of Bassitenga intends to consolidate its achievements, strengthen the mobilization of the faithful and initiate new actions in service of training.
