Abdoul Karim Ouali and Tiantaga Nestor Yonli Elected to APEC Board of Directors

Diapaga: Abdoul Karim Ouali and Tiantaga Nestor Yonli have been elected as regional representatives for Tapoa subscribers to the APEC Board of Directors following a regional section assembly held in Diapaga on August 4, 2026. The election ceremony was chaired by High Commissioner Ren© Karambiri and attended by Director General of APEC, Karim Traor©, along with his staff and the constituted bodies of the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the assembly resulted in the appointment of Abdoul Karim Ouali as the regional delegate and Tiantaga Nestor Yonli as his alternate, both chosen by consensus. Director General Karim Traor© congratulated the newly elected officials, highlighting their roles as spokespeople for Tapoa subscribers and APEC ambassadors. Over the past three years, APEC has successfully mobilized nearly twenty billion CFA francs from 324 subscribers, funding projects like tomato processing and gold extraction plants, which have created significant employment opportunities.

High Commissioner Ren© Karambiri emphasized the presidential initiative's goal of encouraging investment in Burkina Faso's development, urging Tapoa's population to participate actively in the Popular Shareholding. He praised the quality of the elected officials and underscored the importance of their accountability to the subscribers.

According to Director General Traor©, the Popular Shareholding initiative, launched on June 12, 2023, aims to mobilize over 300 billion CFA francs to support sectors such as agriculture, textiles, agri-food, and mining. The election in Tapoa marks the beginning of subscriber involvement in the governance of this ambitious program.
