Ouagadougou: A ton of rice donated to inmates at the Tenkodogo MACT prison for a birthday celebration by community leader Latifa Sana. Sana offered 25 bags of rice to the inmates of the Tenkodogo Detention and Correction Center -MACT- on Monday, marking her birthday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, consisting of 25 bags of 40 kg rice, was officially handed over to the director of the establishment, Tanga Jean-Baptiste Yam©ogo, in the presence of the donor's friends and partners. Latifa Sana expressed that her intention was to give a charitable dimension to her birthday celebration, continuing her tradition of replacing festivities with acts of charity for the third consecutive year.

"Celebrating a birthday is an opportunity to reach out to those in need. If everyone dedicates a portion of their celebration budget to helping others, it can brighten many lives," said Latifa Sana. In addition to the rice donation, the delegation also planted two seedlings within the MACT grounds to support the prison staff.

Latifa Sana further noted that this initiative is part of her ongoing charitable efforts, which include a reforestation operation with the Municipal Police and distributing school supplies to internally displaced students in Tenkodogo.

Director of MACT, Tanga Jean-Baptiste Yam©ogo, expressed gratitude for the gesture, highlighting its contribution to improving the food ration of the residents. "This donation will help improve the food conditions of our residents, particularly women and minors, whose ration often consists of t, beans, and rice," he stated.

Mr. Yam©ogo also called for solidarity with people deprived of their liberty, emphasizing that even small gestures like a kilogram of rice or a ball of soap are valuable. "Our compatriots in detention must not be forgotten. Despite the difficult situation the country is going through, every gesture counts," he added.
