A Day of Solidarity Celebrated with Children in Gaongo

Gaongo: The 5th edition of the Children's Solidarity Day (JSE) unfolded in Gaongo, marked by donations and cultural activities in support of the children of the commune. The event, held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, was organized by the Youth Association for the Development of Children and Adolescents (AJEEA).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the day was filled with festivities, including the distribution of donations such as hats, sweets, and biscuits to children, and featured cultural activities like traditional dances. The president of AJEEA, Norbert Abem, emphasized the importance of the event, stating that it aims to show solidarity with the community's children and assist them.

"Today, we are gathered to celebrate this day, which is special for us because solidarity is a social virtue in Burkina Faso. It allows us to bring smiles to children, the future builders of our country, Burkina Faso," said Abem.

Kadre Ouedraogo, representing the sponsor Honorable Issaka Tapsoba, a Member of Parliament in the Transitional Legislative Assembly, commended the organizers for their initiative and applauded all participants. "We are committed to helping vulnerable children and teenagers in the community," Ouedraogo promised, highlighting the responsibility adults have to support children for a better future.

The 2025 Youth Day in Gaongo not only provided an opportunity for children to express their artistic talents through traditional dances but also served as a platform for community engagement and support. Plans are already underway for the next edition to take place in one of the communes of the Nahouri province in 2026.
