Sterling investigation done by determined detectives attached to Provincial Commercial Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old woman for a charge of fraud on Thursday 13 July 2023.

Reports suggest that the suspect lured potential investors to invest in a real estate, of which she was the sole director, with a potential return on their investment. It is confirmed that several victims invested funds in excess of R5 million between 2021 and 2022. The suspect however misappropriated the funds which was paid directly into her bank account. The investigating officer continued to gather all the relevant information to build a strong case.

On Thursday 13 July 2023, the investigating officer arrested and detained the 33-year-old woman for a charge of fraud.

The suspect is expected to make a court appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate court today Friday 14 July 2023 on the mentioned charge.
