80th Anniversary of Russian Victory Commemorated with Military Parade in Moscow

Moscow: The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, attended the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a notable part of the Second World War where the Russians triumphed over Nazism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Ibrahim Traor© was an esteemed guest of President Vladimir Putin at the event held in Red Square. The ceremony featured a military parade including more than 11,500 Russian soldiers, security personnel, and 1,500 veterans. The event was attended by heads of state from allied countries such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, and India, demonstrating international solidarity.

Russian President Vladimir Putin presided over the ceremony, using the occasion to express Russia's stance on current diplomatic and geopolitical issues. He highlighted the sacrifices made during the war, stating that Russia ensured "freedom and peace for all humanity" at great cost. President Putin urged respect for the generation that fought in the war and emphasized the contributions of allied nations to the victory.

A significant part of the commemoration was the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, attended by Captain Ibrahim Traor© and other dignitaries. This gesture underscored the enduring cooperation between Burkina Faso and Russia.
