Kampti: Held from May 1 to 3, 2026, the 72 hours of the Dozos of Kampti were marked by a strong appeal from the pan-African president of Dozos without Borders, Yacouba Drabo known as "Bonk", in favor of close collaboration between Dozos and Defense and Security Forces (FDS), in a spirit of unity and social cohesion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Yacouba Drabo, addressing a large gathering of Dozo hunters, local residents, and administrative authorities, urged traditional hunters not to replace the security forces, but to support them in their security missions. He emphasized the need to strengthen cohesion between Dozo hunters, civilians, and regular forces, a crucial condition for lasting peace.
Presiding over the ceremony, the prefect, head of the Kampti special delegation, Massahiba Aim© SOULAMA, praised the initiative, describing it as a framework for constructive dialogue and the promotion of local values. He encouraged the Dozos to continue their commitment in strict compliance with the laws of the Republic and in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
Placed under the patronage of Master Robert HIEN, the ceremony also benefited from the co-sponsorships of Mr. Kipsi Nana, regional director of RTB 2 Dj´r´, and Mr. Bªbª KAMBIR€š¬…¡¬°, first vice-president of the special delegation of Kampti.
For three days, the activities included parades of Dozo hunters, craft exhibitions, workshops and conferences on Dozo culture, as well as performances of traditional dances and music. A grand concert and an awards ceremony concluded the event in a festive and fraternal atmosphere.
This edition of the 72 hours of the Dozos of Kampti will have contributed to strengthening the links between tradition and modernity, while consolidating the dialogue between community and institutional actors.
