71 Women in Gossina Earn Certificates for Dyeing Training

Nayala: 71 women from the Sitoa Lawa association in Gossina receive certificates of completion for dyeing training. 71 women from the Sitoa Lawa association of Gossina received certificates of completion of dyeing training on Saturday during a ceremony presided over by the High Commissioner of the Nayala province, Honore Frederic Pare.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this training, organised by the Sitoa Lawa association, is part of the dynamic of promoting the empowerment of women. For several months, the 71 beneficiaries were introduced to dyeing techniques in order to develop income-generating activities.

In his speech, the High Commissioner of Nayala praised the initiative, which he described as "commendable" and which contributes to strengthening the economic resilience of women. "The economic empowerment of women is an essential lever for local development," said Mr. Pare, inviting the beneficiaries to put the acquired skills into practice. He also reiterated that promoting women's rights and empowerment remains a priority for the Burkinabe authorities, particularly in the current context marked by security and humanitarian challenges.

The High Commissioner also paid tribute to the defense and security forces as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland for their efforts in securing the population. The president of the Sitoa Lawa association, Zie Florence, expressed her gratitude to the authorities and the trainer, praising the commitment of the women beneficiaries who followed the training with determination. Trainer Pare Rassa encouraged the women to value the knowledge they had acquired and to share their know-how with other members of the community.

The ceremony was punctuated by a parade of women dressed in fabrics dyed by themselves, cultural performances, and the presentation of certificates to the beneficiaries.
