Ouagadougou: The 4th edition of Photos'OR BF, Burkina Faso's photography hike, was officially announced during a press conference in Ouagadougou. This year, the event will focus on the tourist and cultural sites of the Nando region under the theme "Living Heritage and Resilience: Photography in the Service of Tourism and Cultural Development in Times of Crisis."
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, spearheaded by photographer Yempabou DieudonnOuoba, aims to establish photographic hiking as a leading initiative both nationally and sub-regionally. The event seeks to leverage photography as a tool for enhancing heritage, boosting tourism, and fostering cultural innovation. Togo will be the guest country of honor, adding an international dimension to the event.
The event will take place from August 7 to 9, 2026, featuring 25 photographers who will explore the Nando region to capture and produce photographic content highlighting the cultural and tourist heritage of Koudougou, R©o, and Sabou. Yempabou DieudonnOuoba emphasized that this year's edition will offer a photographic exhibition from August 17 to 19, 2026. This exhibition will allow local communities to engage with and appreciate the works created within their own locales.
In addition to the exhibition, thematic panels and experience exchanges are planned to foster professional networking and the development of regional photographic projects. The best photographs will be compiled into a professional image bank aimed at aiding communication efforts for institutions, local authorities, and tourism stakeholders.
Photos'OR BF continues to serve as a platform for promoting Burkinabe photography, contributing to training, heritage enhancement, artistic creation, and cultural cooperation.
