Bam: 4,074 candidates for the Primary School Certificate (CEP) and 2,227 for the First Cycle Studies Certificate (BEPC) began their end-of-year exams on Tuesday in Bam province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the official CEP launch ceremony took place at the Bango public primary school, in the Kongoussi 2 Basic Education District (CEB), chaired by the High Commissioner of the province, Karim Ou©draogo. He addressed the candidates, advising them to remain calm and focused during the exams.
Of the 4,074 candidates registered for the CEP this year in Bam province, there are 2,347 boys and 1,727 girls. The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education (DPEPPNF), Naba Ilboudo, assured that all material, security, and health measures have been taken to ensure the smooth running of the exams, which have commenced without any major incidents.
Simultaneously, the written BEPC exams were launched by the Secretary General of Bam Province, Moussa Sanou, at the Kongoussi Municipal High School. The Provincial Director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Bam reported 2,227 candidates distributed among 9 juries throughout the province.
He expressed satisfaction with the initial hours of the exams and acknowledged the efforts of the teaching staff, security forces, and stakeholders involved in the organization and administration of the tests. The exams culminate 9 months of preparation, with results expected on June 11 for the BEPC and June 14 for the CEP.
